I hope that you and your family are doing well.  I wanted to reach out to you regarding the SPAM renewal for August 1, 2021.

Based on the experience on the LTD plan we are looking at a substantial increase to the rates.  The case is running over a 200% loss ratio.  I am including the experience for your reference.

In the past when I have reached out to the payroll area they have not been willing to put in a large increase.  The most recent increase was 5%.

The current benefit available to the troopers has a 90 day elimination period.  The benefit is 60% of your monthly salary to $12,500 with a two year own occupation any occupation to age 65 ADEA.

We can look at making plan design changes (meaning increasing the elimination period and lowering the maximum) but we are still looking at more than doubling the current rates.

I will reach out to the payroll area to see what they will allow for an increase.
